The Omori Mika Pool is a Japanese film set in Chiang Mai, Thailand. The pastel-colored cityscapes and the vivid presence of the food that seems to convey even the smells strike a chord in my heart.
In the scene from 'Lupin III: The Castle of Cagliostro' by Monkey Punch, 'meatball spaghetti' appears during a conversation between Lupin and Jigen while they are dining at a restaurant during their escape. The comical depiction of the two fighting over a large plate of spaghetti is very much in line with the world of 'Lupin'.
Guri and Gura, the field mice who love cooking and eating more than anything, found a large egg in the forest. After considering whether to make fried eggs or an omelet, they decided to make castella. However, the egg was too big to carry. So, they brought a frying pan and decided to cook it right there. Attracted by the smell of the castella being baked, animals from all over the forest gathered... Guri and Gura, the popular characters, were born from this picture book.
