This mini kaiseki is a casual breakdown of seasonal kaiseki cuisine. The dish is first served in a bamboo basket handmade by a Kyoto bamboo craftsman, and includes six kinds of dishes such as sashimi, sashimi topping, and vinegared dishes, accompanied by flowers blooming in our garden during the season. Then, freshly prepared hot dishes such as yakimono and tempura are served in order, followed by chawanmushi (steamed egg custard) using chicken eggs procured from a contract poultry farmer, and rice with chirimen sansho (Japanese pepper paste). For dessert, a cake roll made with wasanbon sugar, specially prepared by the chef, will be served. This course is a luxurious and colorful lunch.

This kaiseki course is the face of Yugetsu, a well-balanced combination of fish, meat, and vegetable dishes using seasonal ingredients, traditional vegetables such as Kyoto vegetables, the bounty of Tanba Satoyama, and seafood from the Sea of Japan, and is available for lunch or dinner in two reasonable courses.

The Tamba Plateau in Kyotamba Town, located adjacent to the south of Ayabe City, retains its old-fashioned nature, with clean air and unclouded mountain water existing naturally. We prepare sukiyaki using high-quality Tamba beef raised with great care on a farm located on such a plateau. Along with the marbled Tamba beef, we offer a nabe full of Kyoto Tamba flavors, including standard nabe vegetables such as Chinese cabbage and leeks, local vegetables such as Kyoto vegetables and daikoku shimeji mushrooms, and tofu produced in Ayabe.
