L'Orange is a popular counter-style French restaurant in Sapporo, where you can fully enjoy carefully selected ingredients from Hokkaido. Thanks to the skill and passion of owner-chef Masao Ohara, each dish is a work of art. Inside the restaurant, fresh ingredients chosen directly by the chef at the market are prepared right in front of you, stimulating your senses with their aromas and sounds. The desserts, in particular, showcase the chef's talent, as he once excelled as a pastry chef.

It is a shop located in a mixed-use building, but once you pass through the door, the atmosphere changes completely and it becomes exciting. The space is refreshing yet elegant, and the staff are very warm and welcoming. You can see the cooking process over the counter, and it's enjoyable as the chef carefully explains each dish. You can feel the commitment to local ingredients, and the dish of salad with surf clams and green onions paired with vinegar jelly had a pleasant crunch and gentle acidity. The dessert of passion fruit konnyaku noodles and mango ice cream was also a perfect match, and I enjoyed the sauce in the dish as well. The combination with alcohol was spot on, and I was thrilled by the flavors that evoked an Asian aroma.
