Oysters grown in Senpoushi, located in the western part of Akkeshi Bay in Hokkaido. Senpoushi originally comes from the Ainu language, meaning 'a place where many small fish are found.' In other words, it is a very rich fishing ground with plenty of small fish, allowing you to enjoy a rich and creamy flavor.
Akkeshi means 'a place with oysters' in the Ainu language. It has a round shape and is called round oyster. The meat is very thick and plump, and it has surprisingly little of the characteristic fishy smell of oysters, making it easy to eat.
The 'Reconstruction Oyster' started from scratch after suffering devastating damage from the earthquake. The bay of Minamisanriku, which has a ria coastline, is rich in nutrients, resulting in a refreshing flavor characterized by its aroma and firm texture.
