Speaking of Setsubun day, I thought it was always February 3rd since my childhood, but this year, for the first time in 124 years, it is February 2nd. Why? Speaking of Setsubun, we eat sushi rolls facing the direction of the year! I didn't do any research until just before the day of the event, so I hurriedly searched the day before and found Isoichi's shop on the 1st floor of the Nissei Shin-Osaka Building, right next to Shin-Osaka Station! I was so glad to find it on their instagram! I wish I could have one of each type, but the extra-large one is about one size bigger and heavier than the smaller one. Top roll The top roll is made by wrapping 6 kinds of ingredients (kanpyo, oboro, homemade omelet, shiitake mushroom, cucumber, and shrimp) with a thinly-sliced egg! The nori also had a nice crunch to it! Special top roll The top roll has squid and eel added to the ingredients of the top roll, and this one has a much larger amount of rice, making it very heavy. The eel is fragrant and the squid is plump. I may visit them for lunch again after a long time. Isoichi has its main store in Yamada, and has 4 stores in Nishi-Umeda, Esaka, and here! There used to be one in Higashimikuni, too. You can enter from both inside and outside the building. I wonder if there was no counter available. The sashimi included kampachi, salmon, flatfish, squid, and tuna! It is delicious, but the taste is not as good as Yamada's main restaurant... I think it would have been nice to have a small bowl of food for this price...
