Back then, Brown batched barrels obtained from three distilleries to create a consistent flavor profile. To emulate that process today, we also select barrels from three warehouses, each barrel originating from a different day of production, with a different entry proof and a different age profile. The three expressions of Old Forester are then batched together and minimally filtered to craft Old Forester 1870 Original Batch. 90 proof

This Speyside malt has been aged 12 years in a hoghead. Unchill-filtered and bottled at 92 proof. A rich and deep flavour, alive with sweet ginger, pear and rose water. Aromatic fruit and light oak create gentle spice, which balances nicely against an undercurrent of creamy vanilla.

This very rare item from Glenlivet has been aged 14 years in a first fill sherry butt. Un-chillfiltered (more full bodied and full flavored). 125.2 proof

Speyside, Distilled 1994, bottled 2012, 16%. Matured in a Hogshead Cask. Non-chill filtered, no color added. Caperdonich distillery started its life in 1898 under the (relatively uninspiring) name 'Glen Grant #2'. Caperdonich distillery was founded by J. & J. Grant, the people that also built the 'original' Glen Grant distillery in 1840. Glen Grant Number Two remained inactive for six decades, but in the year 1965 it was rebuilt by Glenlivet Distilleries Ltd. who resumed production. The new owners also changed the name to Caperdonich ("Secret Well"). In 1977 Seagram from Canada acquired Caperdonich distillery - before selling it on to Pernod Ricard in 2001. Pernod Ricard closed the distillery one year later in 2002. Fragrant nose, of cut damp grass/ hay, lemon, tropical fruit, malt. Tase is very sweet and creamy. Vanilla custard, canned mixed fruit, sugary syrup. Finishes sweet and spicy. chili, paprika, orange zest.

Notes of hay and summer grass in the nose. Hint of sweetness. In the mouth, well done: round and mellow for his age. Caressing finale. Aged in hogshead. Cask Strength (53.5) bottle 209 of 247.

From the Ladyburn distillery. Ayrshire is the code name used by several NDPs for the Ladyburn distillery that was closed in 1975 by William Grant & Sons. WG&S does continue to put out rare releases of this wonderful old whisky (some bottles priced at $2000), but won't allow anyone but themselves to actually use the name Ladyburn. The nose starts with some funky, woody and fruity notes which develop into grassy malt, toasted nuts and a charred sweetness like burned marshmallows and some earthy undertones. A nice layer of honeyed sweetness moves through the palate, along with some wood and a nutty overtone. In the background are some darker earthier notes. The finish fades out wood and fruit heavy at a medium pace with some trailing notes of nuts and cumin.

Speyside, Distilled 1995, bottled 2012, 53.2%. Matured in Oak Casks. Non-chill filtered, no color added. Imperial was dogged by poor timing. Its chequered history meant that it never had a chance to become established as a single malt brand. Too late for the very earliest wave, by the time the category was becoming popular in the 1970s it was already committed to supplying fillings. When the single malt market came of age in the early 1990s, Imperial was closed. Nose of olive, burnt orange zest, oak, and vanilla notes. A creamy palate with fruit and toasted grain. Finishes creamy and bright with touches of ginger and baking spice 38/70

Sinatra Select pays tribute to Jack's biggest fan: Frank Sinatra. Made with their unique "Sinatra Barrels" that have deep grooves specially carved into their staves to expose the whiskey to extra layers of toasted oak. Sanaig, named after an inlet on Islay's rugged Atlantic coast, is a vatting of Kilchoman matured in both sherry and bourbon barrels. This sherry cask scotch whisky is matured in a high proportion of oloroso barrels, imparting a balance of dried fruits, dark chocolate and rich peat smoke into the spirit. 12.25/23.5

Nose is thick peat with a soft, oaky background. Continuous gentle waves of dry peat lap upon the tastebuds but are balanced by a sweet malt middle and vanilla. Finishes long and peaty, the shy vanilla now begins to show as the oak adds a certain dryness. 8.75/17

A vibrant young Laphroaig whose maturation has been sped up by ageing in quarter casks. This shows soft sweetness and a velvety feel when first tasted, then the intense peatiness so unique to Laphroaig comes bursting through. Non-chillfiltered, 92 proof 10.75/20.5

Orange on the nose, with mild vanillins and lemon. The barley is still recognizable through it all. Taste of grassy Sauvignon Blanc tones. A fine example of how the distinctively crisp, citrus character of Aberlour's new distillate is deftly softened by double cask maturation. Called the honeyed tropical one because of its smooth, creamy sweetness with a hint of tropical fruit, citrus and coastal heather. It is exclusively matured in first-fill American Oak Casks, selected by Scapa artisans. 19/34

Distilled 1998, Bottled 2010; Hogshead Aged Rare independent bottling of Glen Ord, Color of straw with aromas of dried fruits (pear and banana), wax, oil and a hint of coal smoke. On the palate (neat) it is perfectly balanced between the raw power, the sweetness from the alcohol and the spirit's waxiness. This very rare item from Glenlivet has been aged 14 years in a first fill sherry butt. Un-chillfiltered (more full bodied and full flavored). 125.2 proof

Speyside, Distilled 1994, bottled 2012, 16%. Matured in a Hogshead Cask. Non-chill filtered, no color added. Caperdonich distillery started its life in 1898 under the (relatively uninspiring) name 'Glen Grant #2'. Caperdonich distillery was founded by J. & J. Grant, the people that also built the 'original' Glen Grant distillery in 1840. Glen Grant Number Two remained inactive for six decades, but in the year 1965 it was rebuilt by Glenlivet Distilleries Ltd. who resumed production. The new owners also changed the name to Caperdonich ("Secret Well"). In 1977 Seagram from Canada acquired Caperdonich distillery - before selling it on to Pernod Ricard in 2001. Pernod Ricard closed the distillery one year later in 2002. Fragrant nose, of cut damp grass/ hay, lemon, tropical fruit, malt. Tase is very sweet and creamy. Vanilla custard, canned mixed fruit, sugary syrup. Finishes sweet and spicy. chili, paprika, orange zest.

Notes of hay and summer grass in the nose. Hint of sweetness. In the mouth, well done: round and mellow for his age. Caressing finale. Aged in hogshead. Cask Strength (53.5) bottle 209 of 247.

From the Ladyburn distillery. Ayrshire is the code name used by several NDPs for the Ladyburn distillery that was closed in 1975 by William Grant & Sons. WG&S does continue to put out rare releases of this wonderful old whisky (some bottles priced at $2000), but won't allow anyone but themselves to actually use the name Ladyburn. The nose starts with some funky, woody and fruity notes which develop into grassy malt, toasted nuts and a charred sweetness like burned marshmallows and some earthy undertones. A nice layer of honeyed sweetness moves through the palate, along with some wood and a nutty overtone. In the background are some darker earthier notes. The finish fades out wood and fruit heavy at a medium pace with some trailing notes of nuts and cumin.

Speyside, Distilled 1995, bottled 2012, 53.2%. Matured in Oak Casks. Non-chill filtered, no color added. Imperial was dogged by poor timing. Its chequered history meant that it never had a chance to become established as a single malt brand. Too late for the very earliest wave, by the time the category was becoming popular in the 1970s it was already committed to supplying fillings. When the single malt market came of age in the early 1990s, Imperial was closed. Nose of olive, burnt orange zest, oak, and vanilla notes. A creamy palate with fruit and toasted grain. Finishes creamy and bright with touches of ginger and baking spice 38/70

This Speyside malt has been aged 12 years in a hoghead. Unchill-filtered and bottled at 92 proof. A rich and deep flavour, alive with sweet ginger, pear and rose water. Aromatic fruit and light oak create gentle spice, which balances nicely against an undercurrent of creamy vanilla.

This very rare item from Glenlivet has been aged 14 years in a first fill sherry butt. Un-chillfiltered (more full bodied and full flavored). 125.2 proof

Speyside, Distilled 1994, bottled 2012, 16%. Matured in a Hogshead Cask. Non-chill filtered, no color added. Caperdonich distillery started its life in 1898 under the (relatively uninspiring) name 'Glen Grant #2'. Caperdonich distillery was founded by J. & J. Grant, the people that also built the 'original' Glen Grant distillery in 1840. Glen Grant Number Two remained inactive for six decades, but in the year 1965 it was rebuilt by Glenlivet Distilleries Ltd. who resumed production. The new owners also changed the name to Caperdonich ("Secret Well"). In 1977 Seagram from Canada acquired Caperdonich distillery - before selling it on to Pernod Ricard in 2001. Pernod Ricard closed the distillery one year later in 2002. Fragrant nose, of cut damp grass/ hay, lemon, tropical fruit, malt. Tase is very sweet and creamy. Vanilla custard, canned mixed fruit, sugary syrup. Finishes sweet and spicy. chili, paprika, orange zest.

Notes of hay and summer grass in the nose. Hint of sweetness. In the mouth, well done: round and mellow for his age. Caressing finale. Aged in hogshead. Cask Strength (53.5) bottle 209 of 247.

From the Ladyburn distillery. Ayrshire is the code name used by several NDPs for the Ladyburn distillery that was closed in 1975 by William Grant & Sons. WG&S does continue to put out rare releases of this wonderful old whisky (some bottles priced at $2000), but won't allow anyone but themselves to actually use the name Ladyburn. The nose starts with some funky, woody and fruity notes which develop into grassy malt, toasted nuts and a charred sweetness like burned marshmallows and some earthy undertones. A nice layer of honeyed sweetness moves through the palate, along with some wood and a nutty overtone. In the background are some darker earthier notes. The finish fades out wood and fruit heavy at a medium pace with some trailing notes of nuts and cumin.

Speyside, Distilled 1995, bottled 2012, 53.2%. Matured in Oak Casks. Non-chill filtered, no color added. Imperial was dogged by poor timing. Its chequered history meant that it never had a chance to become established as a single malt brand. Too late for the very earliest wave, by the time the category was becoming popular in the 1970s it was already committed to supplying fillings. When the single malt market came of age in the early 1990s, Imperial was closed. Nose of olive, burnt orange zest, oak, and vanilla notes. A creamy palate with fruit and toasted grain. Finishes creamy and bright with touches of ginger and baking spice 38/70

Grant, the people that also built the 'original' Glen Grant distillery in 1840. Glen Grant Number Two remained inactive for six decades, but in the year 1965 it was rebuilt by Glenlivet Distilleries Ltd. who resumed production. The new owners also changed the name to Caperdonich ("Secret Well"). In 1977 Seagram from Canada acquired Caperdonich distillery - before selling it on to Pernod Ricard in 2001. Pernod Ricard closed the distillery one year later in 2002. Fragrant nose, of cut damp grass/ hay, lemon, tropical fruit, malt. Tase is very sweet and creamy. Vanilla custard, canned mixed fruit, sugary syrup. Finishes sweet and spicy. chili, paprika, orange zest.

Notes of hay and summer grass in the nose. Hint of sweetness. In the mouth, well done: round and mellow for his age. Caressing finale. Aged in hogshead. Cask Strength (53.5) bottle 209 of 247.

From the Ladyburn distillery. Ayrshire is the code name used by several NDPs for the Ladyburn distillery that was closed in 1975 by William Grant Sons. WG does continue to put out rare releases of this wonderful old whisky (some bottles priced at $2000), but won't allow anyone but themselves to actually use the name Ladyburn. The nose starts with some funky, woody and fruity notes which develop into grassy malt, toasted nuts and a charred sweetness like burned marshmallows and some earthy undertones. A nice layer of honeyed sweetness moves through the palate, along with some wood and a nutty overtone. In the background are some darker earthier notes. The finish fades out wood and fruit heavy at a medium pace with some trailing notes of nuts and cumin.

Speyside, Distilled 1995, bottled 2012, 53.2%. Matured in Oak Casks. Non-chill filtered, no color added. Imperial was dogged by poor timing. Its chequered history meant that it never had a chance to become established as a single malt brand. Too late for the very earliest wave, by the time the category was becoming popular in the 1970s it was already committed to supplying fillings. When the single malt market came of age in the early 1990s, Imperial was closed. Nose of olive, burnt orange zest, oak, and vanilla notes. A creamy palate with fruit and toasted grain. Finishes creamy and bright with touches of ginger and baking spice 38/70

Finished in white Port wine barrels (about 4 months of aging on this barrel). Our tasting panel thought 105 proof brought out the most character in this whiskey. Notes of vanilla and cinnamon. An exceptional Bourbon!

This lot of barrels was in the middle floors of Warehouse G and I which resulted in a very even temperature exposure. Sweet, creamy, oak led, complex flavor, with a caramelized citrus note. Aged 12 years. 97 Proof

Made with their unique "Sinatra Barrels" that have deep grooves specially carved into their staves to expose the whiskey to extra layers of toasted oak. Gold color laced with reddish amber hues, nearly copper in tone, with an aroma of subtle vanilla, raisins, maple syrup and toasted nuts. On the palate, you'll detect vanilla, ripe fruit, maple syrup, toast and bitter chocolate. Finishes clean with a lingering sweetness and a hint of Madeira that slowly fades.
