On the palate, this wine offers a flinty first impression, evoking the freshness of summer rain hitting pavement. An initial tartness quickly dissipates, yielding to the wine's minerality. Lean but with a fleshy fruit body, this wine remains dry and maintains interest with a lingering lime citrus finish.

Black plum, blackberry jam, medicinal cherry is spread thick on the palate, with dense tannins shouldering this all in to a balsamic finish. Feels sunbaked, especially on the warming finish. From Spain's innovative Vintae project, this is a blend of tempranillo and graciano from terraced soils in the area of San Vicente de la Sonsierra, La Rioja, that has seen twenty months in French and American oak.

The large format puncheons and Hungarian/Slavonian oak are evident in the subtle way the oak is present. Overall the wine has fantastic layers of fruit and savoury flavours. Bing cherry mingles with red and black cherry fruit. Grilled aromatic herbs meet cured tobacco leaves. The Palate is layered and while is still young and morphed into itself, it still offers plenty of pleasure in youth.
Tasting Notes: Rich, dark and intense fruit flavors take top billing in this 2016 Elouan Pinot Noir, a wine that beautifully reflects the warm and dry growing season. ABV: 12%. The 2015 Reserve Blanc de Blancs is as crisp and refined as the packaging it wears. The 2015 vintage was very good to us with warm winds blowing up from the south to complement what was already a good growing season at Fitz. This crisp and refined wine presented us with a debate at bottling. To dosage or not to dosage? Because of the warmth of the year, it was close to perfect in profile. But in the end, we added just the smallest dosage to round it out a little. It was the right call. Our Reserve Sparkling wines are rested on lees longer than any other in our sparkling wine program at no less than 36 months. The result is real richness and complexity in the wine – a quality you can't rush. The Fitz Reserve Blanc de Blancs is made using traditional methods from 100 estate grown Chardonnay grapes from Greata Ranch Vineyard.
ABV: 11%. Winemaker Notes: The Carte d'Or cuvée is the very expression of the Drappier style. With its very high proportion of Pinot Noir, one is almost tasting a Blanc de Noirs. A puff of raspberry perfume lingers on the finely spiced finish. This spends 24-36 months on the lees, and has a dosage of 8 g/l.

Varietal: Champagne Blend. ABV: 13.5%. Dom Pérignon Rosé is a tribute to Pinot Noir. To work with Pinot Noir continually requires excellence and humility. In that regard, Dom Pérignon Rosé is a paradox to the point of contradiction as it is the perfect balance of Chardonnay and Pinot Noir. Although it took over ten years to reach the light of day, the color of Dom Pérignon Rosé dares to express all the tension between youth and maturity, between exhibition and restraint. Dom Pérignon Rosé keeps the Pinot Noir promise by making it sing out loud, on a clear, vibrant and fragile note.

We believe that the Santa Lucia Highlands appellation in Monterey County is one of the best appellations in the world for producing Chardonnay. This region benefits from cool morning fog and afternoon breezes that result in a long growing season, producing intense fruit flavors balanced with vibrant acidity. Mer Soleil Silver is a pure, clean expression of our estate-grown Santa Lucia Highlands Chardonnay. The grapes that go into this Chardonnay are of the highest quality for a number of reasons: the unique climate, our vineyard location on east-facing slopes, vine-to-vine uniformity, low-yields and grapes picked at peak ripeness. The wine is fermented and aged in a combination of stainless steel and small Nomblot concrete tanks that are imported from France and feature state-of-the-art technology. The unlined tanks are made from natural limestone-based cement, so temperatures are kept stable while still allowing a small amount of oxygen contact to enhance flavor development, similar to aging in an oak barrel. Our unique ceramic bottle is reminiscent of the concrete fermenters that enhance this wine so beautifully, and continues to preserve the bright, fresh fruit characters.

Sourced from deeper, richer soil profiles (Pleasanton loam series) from both A and C block, this wine has the body weight of a "baby Solari." Always the most aromatic and sensual of the crus from Brovia, the Rocche dei Brovia carries its weight with a ballerina-like delicacy on top of tannins that are sweet and silky. A seductress that tempts you to the table with its near-athletic versatility, the Rocche is the one member of this special quartet of crus that will charm you from the outset. The unique qualities of this "cru" result from the sandy soil composition that is in stark contrast to the terrain that underlies its neighboring "crus" in Castiglione Falletto. The Brovia parcel (1.5 hectares) of this vineyard faces southeast and sits at 350 meters altitude. The vines were planted in 1966. The wine ferments for at least 3 weeks and then is racked into large oak barrels of French origin for an aging period of no less than two years before it is bottled (unfiltered).

Langi has an unusual soil profile that is rarely found elsewhere in Victoria and indeed Australia. As Mount Langi Ghiran is an isolated geological feature, the rock has eroded over time providing a granite topsoil layer in the vineyard. This sits on top of red clay loams and provides further complexity in the fruit. Although unusual in Australia, centuries of selection for Shiraz cuttings in the Rhone Valley have led to some condiderable synergies between granitic soils and this superb variety. Thus the soils at Mount Langi Ghiran create wines with character and distinction, which resonates with the wines grown on granite in the Old World.
