A stylish café in a renovated historic building

The 'Tanaka Kumakichi,' renovated from an old wooden structure, captivates visitors with its first floor as a boutique and the second floor as a café. The interior features impressive high ceilings and exposed beams, creating a spacious atmosphere. Additionally, the menu showcases dishes made with local ingredients, each highlighting exceptional flavors. It's a place where you can casually enjoy meals and drinks in a relaxed setting.

When you go up the stairs on the right side of the entrance and reach the second floor, you are welcomed by a spacious area that makes the most of the retro building. The interior, lined with old beams and reused chairs, is full of antique charm and very calming. You can choose from the menu using an iPad, and the operation is easy to understand. The butter chicken curry is mild in spiciness, yet the blend of spices and the acidity of the tomatoes is exquisite, and the chicken is juicy. The Tsunan pork and maitake mushroom rice bowl is coated in a sweet and savory sauce, allowing you to fully appreciate the flavors of the meat and mushrooms, making it easy to eat more rice. The variety of drinks and the matcha ice cream with red bean parfait are also plentiful, and the comfortable atmosphere made me linger longer than intended.
