A renowned shop of Nanban sweets steeped in history and tradition
Tsutaya Saryo, established in 1502, is the oldest wagashi shop in Kyushu, making its name known in Hirado City, Nagasaki Prefecture. Notably, it is famous for the traditional Nanban sweet 'Castella,' which was brought over from Portugal. The fluffy texture and elegant sweetness, created from generous amounts of eggs and sugar, have been loved across generations. Be sure to savor this historic flavor that has been passed down since the Edo period.
