At a locally renowned Western-style confectionery shop, I am drawn to both the cakes and baked goods. The purple sweet potato Mont Blanc has a fragrance that spreads gently, and although it is rich, it is not heavy, making me want to eat it all at once. The chestnut Mont Blanc has whole chestnuts inside, and its appearance is excitingly delicious. The cookies are fragrant with a fun crunchiness and just the right amount of sweetness that keeps them from becoming boring. The fig tart features large dried figs that are impressive, and the flavor of the crust is rich. The cozy interior with tatami mats and a low table is lovely, and I can understand why the fresh sweets sometimes sell out due to their popularity.

The Christmas-themed wrapping is adorable, and the chocolate chip cookies are exciting just by their appearance. They are made with local eggs, Hokkaido butter, flour, and cocoa mass, allowing you to feel the quality of the ingredients. The cookies have a pleasant aroma and a crispy texture, with a perfect balance of sweetness that was well-received by my family. Inside the store, you can enjoy them in a calm space with tatami mats and a chabudai, which is a rare atmosphere for a Western-style pastry shop. The baked goods, including cookies shaped like Ishigaki Island, tarts topped with dried figs, and a dish full of nuts, were all delicious. Due to their popularity, some fresh sweets were sold out, but the rich flavors of the purple sweet potato Mont Blanc and chestnut Mont Blanc linger in my memory.
