A restaurant serving authentic handmade soba surrounded by nature

Soba Sakubou Yamabiko is a quiet establishment located in a rich natural environment with beautiful views of Mount Kasagi and terraced rice fields. The interior boasts a unique atmosphere reminiscent of a Showa-era pub, and the soba features fragrant, finely cut noodles made from stone-ground buckwheat. The dipping soba served with duck or chicken broth is particularly outstanding, highlighting the quality of the ingredients.

There are stone terraced fields nearby, and the mountain village air feels refreshing. The soba noodles are finely cut and ground with a stone mill, and their smooth texture is irresistible. I also really enjoyed the broth with a strong dashi aroma and the rich, thick soba water. Throughout the seasons, you can enjoy tempura made from wild vegetables, sweetfish, wild boar, and deer, allowing you to feel the blessings of nature. The game meat is mild and easy to eat, making it delicious until the very end. It seems to be a popular stop for touring bikers, and it's fun to look at the motorcycle photos displayed inside the shop.

Forest soba / Kake soba

If you want to enjoy the simple flavor of soba, Mori is recommended. It has a rich aroma and a unique thin cut, providing a good texture and smoothness.
