My partner wanted to eat yakitori (grilled chicken)! So, while exploring around Kanayama Station, we found a yakitori restaurant that looked like it had a nice atmosphere and made a reservation via AutoReserve. The restaurant is about a 5-minute walk from Kanayama Station.
The counter seating is spacious, and there is a partition between the seats next to us so we don't have to worry about conversation.
There are many kinds of kushiyaki skewers, and I ordered more than 10 kinds, including momo, skin, gizzard, celeri, liver, asparagus, bacon, lotus root, and Shishito (green pepper). The skin was crispy, the liver was rare and sticky, and all were very tasty. Personally, I enjoyed the skin ponzu (citrus juice with ponzu sauce), which was light but had a delicious umami flavor.
The waitresses responded immediately when I called out to them, and I was pleasantly surprised that they were able to prepare my drink right away.
Smoke was billowing up from the grill as it was being cooked right in front of us at the counter, but the smell didn't stick to the clothes we were wearing, probably because the ventilation fan was sucking it in powerfully. However, for some reason, the smell was soaked into my coat that was hanging on the wall. It is unavoidable in a restaurant like this, but it would be nice to have a cover or something over the wall-hung coats.
I would definitely visit again.
