Enjoy the spectacular view and taste the exquisite cuisine of Awaji Island!
Adults' excursion: One-day trip to Awaji Island!
This time, I was attended by a local friend and ate my way around Awaji Island!
First, we went to the Onaruto Bridge Memorial Museum for lunch.
At the entrance, there is a line for the Awajishima Burger!
That's right! It won first place in the annual local burger grand prix the year before last!
People line up for the burger every day!
Two years ago, there weren't that many people in line.
So we went upstairs to have lunch!
We came to Uzuno-oka, a restaurant with a spectacular view!
A super big box restaurant with 180 seats!
On a holiday, the restaurant was full!
You can eat Awaji Island cuisine while enjoying the spectacular view, so why wouldn't you go?
The menu...
The menu is huge!
I can't decide which one to choose, I'm too worried!
But there are 6 of us - we can all share a little bit~!
We've come all this way! I want to eat a variety of food! I'm a foodie!
Here's a little bit about what we ate!
Assorted sashimi 1,500 yen
Awaji Island has delicious seafood, no doubt about it!
Six kinds of sashimi including swordfish, Spanish mackerel, sea bream, and three-year torafugu (blowfish)...!
We were all excited at once, weren't we!
Especially, Spanish mackerel and three-year torafugu are the best!
Awaji Island onion" - Awaji beef with soybean paste - 700 yen!
It came in a tajine pot!
What's in here? What is it?
Onions! And they are umatama onions!
I've always wanted to try these!
First of all... as it is... sweet! Too sweet!
Even with just olive oil and blended salt, the sweetness of the onions was amazing!
There was miso on the meat, but I just ate it as it was!
That's why they call it "Umatama"!
Awaji beef roast beef - 1,200 yen!
Yes, I'm a meat lover!
I can't get enough of the way it's cooked!
Served with onion dressing!
I want to eat this as a bowl of rice on top of white rice...
Japanese Spanish mackerel - 5 slices of sashimi - 700 yen!
It comes in a bowl in the shape of Awaji Island!
The picture is for 3 servings.
It is a part of Japanese Spanish mackerel's belly, so it is rich in fat!
It is crispy and the fat fits in your mouth.
Spanish mackerel sashimi is delicious!
Limited to 3 servings a day - Uni-ita (sea urchin plate) 3,500 yen
My friend had made a reservation in advance, so we were able to enjoy it!
What's that? That's not the way I know how to serve sea urchin...
This way of serving sea urchin is because it is extremely fresh!
Red sea urchin in summer, but now it's black sea urchin!
They say it tastes better with salt, but it's so rich that it's enough on its own!
Since they don't use alum, it doesn't have that distinctive unpleasant taste at all!
It's been a long time since I've tasted sea urchin!
Awajishima Jidako (Awaji Island) juicy fried octopus - 800 yen
I love fried octopus!
It's not overcooked, so it's soft and tender!
The plump texture is incredibly delicious!
Uzu-no-oka seafood sea urchin shabu 3,800 yen
This and this! This is what you often see in the media!
You can feel the richness of the sea urchin in this soup, but it is made with soy milk, so it has a gentle taste!
This is served with sea bream shabu shabu and 1/3 of a sea urchin.
Shabu shabu shabu with sea urchin in sea urchin soup - too luxurious!
The final touch was to add rice to the rice porridge!
The sea urchin and rice is so delicious!
Bifuku Nabe 6500 yen course
Tekkichi using Awaji Island 3-year torafugu (blowfish)
Courses are 3,500 yen, 4,500 yen, 5,500 yen, 6,500 yen
Since we are sharing, let's go for the expensive ones!
The contents are as follows
Torafugu nabe (shirako soup, fugu platter, fugu skin collagen, Awajishima lettuce, spicy vegetables, ponzu jelly, condiments)
2 pieces of nigiri sushi
Seasonal small bowl of cooked food
Porridge set with milt soup (rice, Kitasaka egg, condiments, pickles)
2 pieces of deep-fried fugu (vegetables)
4 pieces of fugu tesa
2 pieces of grilled fugu
Dessert
The course contents are substantial!
I didn't eat all of it, but the deep-fried blowfish was almost like chicken? I didn't eat all of them, but the deep-fried blowfish was so plump and delicious that I almost thought it was chicken!
The meat was so plump and delicious that it could be mistaken for chicken!
The tesashi was also very firm and tasty!
The soup is albacore!
Throw in the ingredients, wrap it around lettuce and enjoy!
This way of eating is also possible!
I was full, but it was really delicious!
Awaji Island is full of such delicious food!
I was honestly surprised!
You can enjoy a lot of Awaji Island when you come here!
It's really luxurious and happy to be here with a spectacular view!
There is a waiting list on weekends and holidays, but you can enjoy trick art while you wait.
You can enjoy trick art, play onion catcher, pick up souvenirs, etc. while you wait.
I think it is a very fulfilling place!
I really appreciate my friend who brought me here!
It's definitely worth the stretch to Minami Awaji!
