Chocolatier in the Forest
When I visited Ishii Iriya Bean Store in Kasuga, I found a new chocolatier had opened right next to the store!
When I opened the door... I found bonbon chocolates that glowed like jewelry in the chic store, and tablets in the shape of unique tree leaves...
The chocolatier was produced by a store that deals in wooden goods, valuing the warmth of trees and the atmosphere of a forest.
I bought an assortment of 4 pieces.
The bonbon chocolates were huge! It is very satisfying.
The plum wine bonbon chocolates are impressive. The aroma of plum wine and chocolate go surprisingly well together. Compared to, for example, cassis liqueur, it is light and has a clean aftertaste. It has a strong alcohol content, so if you don't like alcohol, you should ask the store staff.
An interesting item is a bonbon with smoked nuts.
I ate it without confirming that it contained smoked nuts, which was a surprise! It is a challenging flavor.
The nuts themselves are also roasted in house. I'll have to try their other nut-filled chocolates!
There are many wonderful stores in Kasuga, but now I have one more thing to look forward to during my stroll in Kasuga.
