It is said that when people feel spiciness, they are enveloped in a sense of euphoria due to the secretion of hormones. This dish was created with the desire for everyone to feel a tingling happiness over and over again. The popular menu item 'Happiness Mapo Tofu,' crafted through trial and error by a chef well-versed in Sichuan cuisine, makes its debut at Hyakuraku!

The soul of Mapo Tofu lies in the Sichuan pepper and chili oil, which are, of course, homemade. Happiness (Shinfu) Mapo Tofu is crafted with care in each seasoning to ensure that our customers feel 'happy.'

The chili used is of course Sichuan chili. By using two types of Sichuan chili, we can express a complex spiciness.

'Chenpi' is a seasoning made from the dried peel of mikan, used in herbal cuisine. The Happiness (Shinfu) Mapo Tofu uses 100% Chenpi made from Arita mikan produced by 'Sawa Fruit Orchard' in Arita City, Wakayama Prefecture. Chenpi adds 'depth and richness' to Mapo Tofu, which is not enough with just chili peppers and Sichuan pepper.

Adding a touch of spiciness to the numbing heat of Sichuan pepper is Budou Sansho from Wakayama Prefecture, the top producer of sansho in Japan. It features a soft spiciness and a refreshing sweet aroma.

Using dried tangerine peel for depth and richness, and Sichuan pepper for a refreshing flavor, we have created a taste that you will want to enjoy again and again.

'Spicy Red' focuses on the heat of chili peppers, using chili oil and Guangxi powder to express a fiery spiciness. It pairs exceptionally well with rice.

The noodles and happiness mapo sauce are a perfect match. Enjoy the depth and richness.
