Undan donburi (bowl of rice topped with sea urchin) that exceeded my ideal
I think there were only L-shaped counter seats inside the restaurant and about two tables on the terrace. At night, the restaurant seems to be a counter bar, with a wide variety of alcoholic beverages lined up in a row.
My ideal unotan donburi (2,500 yen)
I had heard in advance that the ideal unotan donburi had too much sea urchin, but I ordered it because I wanted to try it.
First, a set of three appetizers appeared, which were not particularly good or bad.
Then, a golden bowl of rice arrived. The daily special and regular menu items are white and ordinary, so this alone is a huge presence. Open the lid and there is a whole world of sea urchin...
The amount of sea urchin is so large that even if you eat one portion of rice to one portion of sea urchin, you will still have plenty of sea urchin left over. The texture of the chopped green onion and white sesame seeds is delightful. The miso soup is light, perhaps because the sea urchin has enough flavor.
We enjoyed our favorite unotan.
But next time, I think I will have a regular three-color bowl (sea urchin, salmon, and salmon roe).
