The term 'Po Po' is said to come from the flames that rise when the fat from the sanma drips onto the charcoal while the fishermen cook on their boats. Highly recommended!
Grilled sea urchin in shell, known as a specialty from Iwaki. It originated around the Meiji era as a way to preserve sea urchin, which does not keep well when fresh. This local dish features fresh sea urchin lavishly piled on a surf clam shell and steamed over small stones.
