Prestigious wine with character and structure, intensely red in colour, fruit bouquet with hints of green pepper, convincing and compact flavour. Everything an aged Barolo should be and more. Produced in years when the fruits are deemed of premier quality. This particular vintage has been described as a tour de force of power and elegance a particular rich vintage which won two glasses in the Gambero Rosso.
The color is deep garnet red, over the years gradually permeated with orange reflections. The perfume is intense with clean scents of violets, roses and spices, cinnamon, nutmeg, which, over time, evolve into tobacco, leather and truffles. The taste is elegant, dry, austere but velvety, harmonious, enveloping, with abundant tannins, well expressed, but soft and comfortable. Barolo Riserva ages of 3 years in Slovenian traditional oak casks of great size, which contribute to make it harmonious and balanced and increasing the fineness of the bouquet. The original Super Tuscan, this wine is produced exclusively at Antinori's Santa Cristina estate. It was the first Sangiovese to be aged in small oak barrels, the first wine in modern times to use a no traditional grape variety, Cabernet & Sangiovese. This is the 30th anniversary vintage of this wine and has been described as a magisterial interpretation of this blend. This wine was awarded the three glasses in the annual Gambero Rosso review.
The Cabernets were harvested from September 20 and the Sangiovese a week later. The grapes were vinified separately and new methods were used, which guarantee a very gentle processing. Maceration took place in 50 hectoliter open wooden fermenters. The wine was then transferred into 225 liter French oak, where malolactic fermentation was terminated by the year's end. The wines were then racked, blended and returned to the barriques for about 14 months of aging, after which time they were bottled and aged for a further 12 months before release. Intensely fruity and complex on the nose, full-bodied, rich and complex in the mouth with exceptional structure.
From the famous Guado al Tasso estate in Bolgheri, southern Tuscany. This vintage was awarded wine of the year 2006 along with the three glasses award from the Gambero Rosso guide. This is widely recognised as the highest award achievable by any wine. Widely recognised as the best.
The grapes were vinified separately and new methods were used which guarantee a very soft processing. Maceration took place in 50 hectoliter open wooden fermentors with periodic cap submersion for better extraction of colour, complexity and tannins. During this time (15 days for the Sangiovese and 20 days for the Cabernets), the wine completed its alcoholic fermentation at a temperature never exceeding 30°C. The wine was then transferred into 225 liter French oak barrels (new and one-year-old Troncais and Alliers), where malolactic fermentation was terminated by the year's end. The wines were then racked, blended and then returned to the barriques for about 14 months aging, after which time they were bottled and aged for a further 12 months before release. Intensely fruity and complex with a good structure, well-balanced, with soft tannins and a lingering finish. Displays unmistakable varietal flavor while retaining strong regional character.
Ser Gioveto was conceived in 1985 by Italo as a tribute to his son Sergio, who began working alongside him at the helm of the winery in that year. That said, the given name of this wine is also a reference to the archaic name of Sangiovese – 'Sangioveto' – which was the main grape chosen to make the new wine. 10% Cabernet Sauvignon and 10% Merlot are blended with the noble native vine to create a wine of great structure and character, produced from a selection of the winery's finest grapes. Aging in French oak barriques for 9-14 months enriches the wine's aromatic complexity with an enhanced sense of balance and elegance. Bright ruby-red in color, Ser Gioveto releases a warm, attractive aroma of black cherry, plum and blackcurrant syrup, followed by balsamic notes with a spicy finish of leather and sweet tobacco, and can hold its own with full-flavored dishes thanks to its assertive tannic note.

The grapes are carefully de-stemmed and left to macerate for a short period. Next, the fruit is soft crushed. The must obtained is then allowed to settle. The now-clarified must fermentes in temperatured controlled stainless steel tanks. Elegant, with a well-balanced fusion of dry apricot, Asian pear, bread crust, mulberry, white raspberries, persimmon, propolis, Amorpha Fruticosa (flowering plant: false indigo bush), acacia, white fig.
From the state of the art winery in Friuli comes this classic wine. Made from three different grape varieties, it is bright straw in colour with golden reflections. The nose is very intense with persistent smells of honey and country flowers. It is dry and soft on the palate with an extraordinary persistence due to its full body. The floral perfumes of the Sauvignon mix with the notes of honey from the Pinot Bianco. This was one of the first groundbreaking wines from the Friuli region, a classic to be savoured on a special occasion.

The original Super Tuscan, this wine is produced exclusively at Antinori's Santa Cristina estate. It was the first Sangiovese to be aged in small oak barrels, the first wine in modern times to use a no traditional grape variety, Cabernet Sangiovese. This is the 30th anniversary vintage of this wine and has been described as a magisterial interpretation of this blend. This wine was awarded the three glasses in the annual Gambero Rosso review.
The Cabernets were harvested from September 20 and the Sangiovese a week later. The grapes were vinified separately and new methods were used, which guarantee a very gentle processing. Maceration took place in 50 hectoliter open wooden fermenters. The wine was then transferred into 225 liter French oak, where malolactic fermentation was terminated by the year's end. The wines were then racked, blended and returned to the barriques for about 14 months of aging, after which time they were bottled and aged for a further 12 months before release. Intensely fruity and complex on the nose, full-bodied, rich and complex in the mouth with exceptional structure.

The grapes were vinified separately and new methods were used which guarantee a very soft processing. Maceration took place in 50 hectoliter open wooden fermentors with periodic cap submersion for better extraction of colour, complexity and tannins. During this time (15 days for the Sangiovese and 20 days for the Cabernets), the wine completed its alcoholic fermentation at a temperature never exceeding 30°C. The wine was then transferred into 225 liter French oak barrels (new and one-year-old Troncais and Alliers), where malolactic fermentation was terminated by the year's end. The wines were then racked, blended and then returned to the barriques for about 14 months aging, after which time they were bottled and aged for a further 12 months before release. Intensely fruity and complex with a good structure, well-balanced, with soft tannins and a lingering finish. Displays unmistakable varietal flavor while retaining strong regional character.
Ser Gioveto was conceived in 1985 by Italo as a tribute to his son Sergio, who began working alongside him at the helm of the winery in that year. The original Super Tuscan, this wine is produced exclusively at Antinori's Santa Cristina estate. It was the first Sangiovese to be aged in small oak barrels, the first wine in modern times to use a no traditional grape variety, Cabernet & Sangiovese. This is the 30th anniversary vintage of this wine and has been described as a magisterial interpretation of this blend. This wine was awarded the three glasses in the annual Gambero Rosso review.
The Cabernets were harvested from September 20 and the Sangiovese a week later. The grapes were vinified separately and new methods were used, which guarantee a very gentle processing. Maceration took place in 50 hectoliter open wooden fermenters. The wine was then transferred into 225 liter French oak, where malolactic fermentation was terminated by the year's end. The wines were then racked, blended and returned to the barriques for about 14 months of aging, after which time they were bottled and aged for a further 12 months before release. Intensely fruity and complex on the nose, full-bodied, rich and complex in the mouth with exceptional structure.
From the famous Guado al Tasso estate in Bolgheri, southern Tuscany. This vintage was awarded wine of the year 2006 along with the three glasses award from the Gambero Rosso guide. This is widely recognised as the highest award achievable by any wine. Widely recognised as the best.
The grapes were vinified separately and new methods were used which guarantee a very soft processing. Maceration took place in 50 hectoliter open wooden fermentors with periodic cap submersion for better extraction of colour, complexity and tannins. During this time (15 days for the Sangiovese and 20 days for the Cabernets), the wine completed its alcoholic fermentation at a temperature never exceeding 30°C. The wine was then transferred into 225 liter French oak barrels (new and one-year-old Troncais and Alliers), where malolactic fermentation was terminated by the year's end. The wines were then racked, blended and then returned to the barriques for about 14 months aging, after which time they were bottled and aged for a further 12 months before release. Intensely fruity and complex with a good structure, well-balanced, with soft tannins and a lingering finish. Displays unmistakable varietal flavor while retaining strong regional character.
Ser Gioveto was conceived in 1985 by Italo as a tribute to his son Sergio, who began working alongside him at the helm of the winery in that year. That said, the given name of this wine is also a reference to the archaic name of Sangiovese – 'Sangioveto' – which was the main grape chosen to make the new wine. 10% Cabernet Sauvignon and 10% Merlot are blended with the noble native vine to create a wine of great structure and character, produced from a selection of the winery's finest grapes. Aging in French oak barriques for 9-14 months enriches the wine's aromatic complexity with an enhanced sense of balance and elegance.
