I went to Gion Kitagawa Hanbei, a long-sought-after restaurant, to try their matcha green tea sweets. I had a hard time deciding between the dessert plate and the matcha parfait, but I decided to go with the dessert plate. We were offered a choice of six different beverages, and I was going to choose matcha, but the waiter recommended sencha green tea to balance the dessert, so I went with that. I had never had such a delicious matcha dessert, and I felt the depth of matcha. The sencha was different from the others and very tasty.
