Awarded the Ota-Ma B-class Gourmet Gold Grand Prix, this local gourmet dish from Akiruno uses fresh vegetables produced in Akiruno, including daikon radish, carrots, taro, burdock, konjac, beef (Akikawa beef), dumplings made from suiton, and the traditional vegetable norabou, which has been cultivated since the Edo period. Using pork from the Shimoda family, raised with a carefully selected feed and environment that has won the Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries Award six times, this pork develops its natural fat, resulting in a flavorful meat with natural sweetness and umami.
This is a special curry made with Akikawa beef, a brand of beef from Akiruno, using shank and sinew meat that has been slowly simmered with vegetables and several types of spices for hours to concentrate the flavor.
