The first origins of this sandwich began in France in 1910 and was called the Croque Monsieur… in 1925 the Monte Cristo hotel in Everett, Washington put an American twist on the sandwich. The hotel was named after the mining region in the Cascade Mountain Range and so was the sandwich… well the legend continues here today, with a twisted version. Order one if you dare
