The freshly made, hot Anago Meshi is different from a bento. It is not steamed or boiled; it is simply grilled relying on the fat of the anago (conger eel). The Anago Meshi enjoyed in the dining hall is truly freshly grilled, and when it comes to the flesh of the anago, it is indeed juicier and tastier than the bento. The indescribable umami of a bento enjoyed 2-3 hours later has a different flavor altogether.
