Anago Meshi Small: 2540 yen = 3/4 size Anago Meshi Regular: 2800 yen = standard size Anago Meshi Large: 3340 yen = 5/4 size. The Anago Meshi served in the dining hall is in a lacquer bowl. The freshly made, hot Anago Meshi is different from a bento. It is not steamed or boiled; it is simply grilled relying on the fat of the anago (conger eel). The Anago Meshi enjoyed in the dining hall is truly freshly grilled, and when it comes to the flesh of the anago, it is indeed juicier and tastier than the bento. The indescribable umami of a bento enjoyed 2-3 hours later has a different flavor altogether.
Grilled Conger Eel: 1760 yen Grilled Conger Eel: 1760 yen ★ The grilled version is highly recommended. What we especially want you to try in the dining area is the grilled conger eel. Every day at 'Ueno', we prepare carefully selected grilled eel. Once you enter, don't hesitate to order 'a plate of grilled eel'. You won't encounter a better grilled eel flavor than this! We carefully select the conger eel with this thought in mind. Please enjoy it with a little local sake.

We promise that it will definitely be useful if you have it in your home refrigerator. It can be used as a condiment for vinegared dishes, combined with tamagoyaki and burdock for Yanagawa nabe or tempura, in sushi, or rolled with freshly cooked rice. ・Anago Sasa-meshi [3 pieces]: 1620 yen. This is a sticky rice dish flavored with a secret broth, containing grilled anago (conger eel) and shiitake mushrooms, all wrapped in bamboo leaves. You can enjoy the umami of the grilled anago, the texture of the sticky rice, and the aroma of the bamboo simultaneously.
・Conger Eel Black Rice Sushi [3 pieces]: 1620 yen. Black rice has various effects such as enhancing vitality, promoting blood circulation, and being rich in minerals. It consists of grilled conger eel sandwiched between black rice vinegar rice and shiitake mushrooms, wrapped in bamboo leaves. You can enjoy the umami of the grilled conger eel, the flavor of the black rice vinegar rice, and the aroma of the bamboo leaves all at once.
On top of vinegared rice with a firm and sticky texture, we have laid out sweet and savory cooked donko shiitake mushrooms and plenty of grilled conger eel. For an accent, we have generously scattered chunks of ginger. For color, we have added the green of edamame and the red of pickled myoga. We recommend it as 'Warm Sushi' so you can enjoy the warm vinegared rice with the flavor of freshly grilled eel.
