This pie is baked with whole shiitake mushrooms cultivated on raw wood in Yoshino Town, Nara Prefecture. The thickness of the pie crust is adjusted to fully enjoy the umami of these shiitake mushrooms. The savory flavor spreads throughout your mouth. These shiitake mushrooms come from 'Fresh Shiitake Okamoto', located deep in Yoshino, Nara. The shiitake spores are planted on raw wood that has been nurtured for decades, enduring the harsh temperature differences of the four seasons in Yoshino, absorbing the nutrients from the wood over the course of a year. They are surprisingly 'plump and thick' with a 'rich and savory aroma'. While they are sold as a regular product, due to being a rare ingredient produced in harmony with nature, the sales will align with the harvest quantity of the shiitake mushrooms.
