Available only from June 1 through October 31. We use fresh, wild-caught hamo caught that morning at Yura Port on Awaji Island. Each hamo from Awaji Island is carefully hand-caught one by one; because they are free of blemishes and have beautiful golden bodies, they are known as “Beppin Hamo” and “Golden Hamo.” Characterized by plump yet firm flesh, it boasts an elegant sweetness and rich flavor. At Ao no Ya’s “Hamo Set Meal,” you can fully enjoy seasonal hamo—available only now—in dishes such as sashimi, a special hot pot, and tempura.
Available only from July 1 to August 31. Eel is a summer staple—it has been said since the Edo period that eating it on the “Day of the Ox” during the Dog Days of Summer prevents summer fatigue. At Aono-sha, we use plump, rich, domestically sourced eel. Please enjoy its crispy, aromatic exterior and melt-in-your-mouth texture, achieved by grilling it while layering it with a sweet and savory sauce.
