Ginga Shokudo

Just a 5-minute walk from the west exit of JR Nara Station, this izakaya has been loved for 46 years in a warm interior reminiscent of a Showa-era home. The freshly fried, crispy kushi katsu and tonkatsu have a light aftertaste that pairs exquisitely with fragrant umeshu and seasonal Nara sake. It's a place where even beginners can enjoy themselves easily. During the day, they also serve dishes like katsudon, making it a cozy spot where regulars gather.
