The many small bowls allowed the flavors of the ingredients to shine through, and each had a gentle seasoning, making for a very healthy meal. The miso soup was served piping hot, and I could have seconds of rice, which was the best!
A Specialty Restaurant for Tai Meshi with the Charm of Ehime
This renowned restaurant for tai meshi (sea bream rice) features a building with a historical ambiance and tatami seating that evokes a sense of travel. The rice, which highlights the elasticity and flavor of the sea bream, is rich in dashi and is praised for being enjoyable both on its own and as a final ochazuke (tea rice). Accompaniments like jakoten (fried fish cake) and small side dishes add color to the meal, delighting guests from both within and outside the prefecture. The warm hospitality makes it a place you’ll want to visit again and again.
A stylish Italian restaurant that captures the charm of a port town
"Mesa at the Port" is a lovely Italian restaurant set in a stylishly renovated warehouse, providing a comfortable atmosphere for a pleasant dining experience. The young chef showcases impressive skills, and the beautifully plated dishes captivate visitors. The venue features high ceilings and an open feel, allowing guests to enjoy the attentive service of a sommelier in a calm ambiance. With a wide range of non-alcoholic options and careful attention to ingredients, it's a heartwarming place where everyone can enjoy their meal.
The menu is extensive and delicious, and the atmosphere of the restaurant is excellent!
We were also impressed by the cute signboard girl who greeted us.
We plan to visit again soon.
Thank you so much for this time!
The exterior is cute, and from the moment you enter, you feel excited. The homemade bread that comes out first has a wonderful aroma, is chewy, and pairs well with the sauce. The appetizer platter is fun and well-balanced, featuring tomatoes, mozzarella, steamed vegetables, fritters, and caponata. The pasta, especially the tomato cream with plenty of crab flavor and the squid ink, has a perfect texture. The pizza has a rich cheese aroma, and both the simple ones and the four-cheese option are very satisfying. For dessert, the chocolate gelato and chocolate bread are also recommended, allowing you to enjoy a relaxed atmosphere with a multicultural vibe.

Authentic Mitsuhama-yaki to Enjoy in Matsuyama
Hinode is a renowned restaurant that offers authentic Mitsuhama-yaki, a must-try when visiting Matsuyama. The experience of enjoying this dish right in front of the sizzling teppan is filled with excitement, featuring a rich and sweet sauce. The unique dish, made with a thin crepe-like batter, grilled noodles, cabbage, and beef fat, captivates many visitors. Notably, the red and white chikuwa adds a delightful accent, allowing guests to fully savor this local soul food.
Located in a corner of a traditional shopping street, the store has a calm atmosphere with various goods displayed inside. While waiting in line, the staff takes your order, making the entry process smooth and pleasant. The fresh strawberries are full of flesh, offering a delightful sweetness with a refreshing touch, making them very delicious. The condensed milk, infused with the aroma of tonka beans, interestingly feels like cinnamon, even though it doesn't contain any. The special condensed milk cocoa has a texture similar to ice cream or cake, surprising you with every bite. The compote of peaches, kiwis, and strawberries is abundant even in the ice, providing satisfaction both visually and in taste.
The shop located on the shopping street has a wonderful atmosphere as you enter through the garden from the parking lot. Inside, there is a large tank filled with live seafood, which is enjoyable just to look at. The sushi is thick and fresh, with the squid and sea bream having a pleasant texture, while the fatty tuna melts in your mouth. The fragrant anago (sea eel) and the plump sweet shrimp and clam also bring joy. The red miso soup with clams was rich in flavor and had a nice aroma. The staff's subtle attentiveness was comfortable, and I enjoyed the pickled ginger and tea as well.
Sitting at the counter, the washi paper and chopstick rests are cute and lift my spirits. The owner and the head chef are friendly, and I appreciate being able to order while discussing with them. The yellowtail sashimi has a crunchy texture, and the sweetness spreads as you chew. The sea urchin is exceptionally fresh, with a smoothness that melts in your mouth. There are also fried dishes and tempura, and the fried semi-ebi and kiss are crispy and enjoyable. The sashimi platter and simmered dishes are highly satisfying, and I can relax in the lively atmosphere of the restaurant.
