It features horigotatsu-style tables, allowing you to relax in a calm atmosphere while savoring various dishes, including the famous salted bonito tataki. The high quality of the sashimi and nigiri sushi is particularly well-regarded, providing a delightful dining experience along with heartwarming moments.
Royce is a bar and café that captivates with its antique furnishings and decor, showcasing the owner's exquisite taste. You can enjoy a variety of dishes, including local noodles and tomato salad. The interior is adorned with retro furniture and musical instruments, creating an uplifting ambiance just by visiting. It's the perfect warm and stylish spot for those looking to experience a 'special moment.'
This is my third visit. I always receive pleasant service and spend a blissful moment listening to jazz music, looking at the beautiful garden, and tasting delicious pasta and anmitsu (red bean paste). I will visit again!

In the spacious tatami rooms and at the counter, you can relax and enjoy kakigori (shaved ice) and light meals made with local Uchiko ingredients. The creative kakigori, made with fresh local fruits, is impressively delicious and sure to delight visitors. It’s a heartwarming and soothing spot that is highly recommended for a stop while exploring Uchiko.

Cafe Denjiro is a retro-style cafe with an attractive old folk house appearance. The expertly roasted coffee and homemade cream soda captivate visitors. Moments spent gazing at the garden and engaging in friendly conversations with the owner create special memories for those who visit. It's a heartwarming place that you’ll want to casually stop by while exploring the streets of Uchiko.
The space wrapped in the gentle light of candles is special and very calming. I can feel the view from the window, the sounds of insects, and the presence of the wind, which makes me happy to be close to nature. Local vegetables, fish, and meat take center stage, all of which are fragrant and fresh. The mackerel with a smoky aroma, the shiitake mushroom potage, and the black sea bream left a particularly strong impression. The fluffy braised pork and well-cooked beef steak, along with the bread, were all delicious and satisfying. The commitment to using local utensils was evident, allowing me to enjoy the meal comfortably.
Restaurant Karari is located by the river and offers a chance to enjoy fresh local vegetables and specialties. The buffet features a variety of dishes, with vegetable dishes and local ham being particularly well-regarded, showcasing a simple yet rustic deliciousness. Additionally, desserts made at a local bakery are available, providing new discoveries with each visit. The hamburger has a hand-kneaded texture, is tender, and pairs well with the depth of the sauce. The herb-roasted chicken has a pleasant aroma, and the lightness of the breast meat is elegant. The mixed fry is crispy and not heavy, allowing you to enjoy deep-fried chayote and even wild boar fry. You can choose between rice or bread, and the salad is fresh, with the staff's explanations and attentiveness being very pleasant.
