A visit to a restaurant that refuses to be interviewed
I took advantage of my summer vacation to go to Matsusaka again this year because I had a lot of free time. Of course, I was looking for meat!
I had always been curious about this restaurant, which was introduced by Jimon Terakado in the TV program "The restaurant that refused to be interviewed. The nearest station is Hisai Station on the Kintetsu Line, about a 15-minute walk along the JGSDF garrison.
I visited at 5:00 p.m. on a weekday and entered the restaurant just as it opened, but all the table tops had plates with reserved seats! The phone rings constantly during business hours, so if you plan to go, I recommend making a reservation as soon as possible.
The specialty of this restaurant is that they use Matsusaka beef not only for the ribs and loin, but also for all the hormones. Words like "Matsusaka beef" and "A5-ranked black Japanese beef" refer to the quality of the meat and have nothing to do with the internal organs such as hormones. However, the freshness of the hormones, whose feed and condition are thoroughly controlled, is what makes them so tasty!
In particular, sagari, tsura, and hormone are the best of the best!
I left the tare and salt seasoning to the owner, and it was mostly salt. They are perfect for eating as is, for serving with beer, or even on-the-rice.
The bill was about 3,500 yen per person after all the drinking and eating.
The restaurant has both table and tatami room seating, and on the day we went, the owner was in a one-operation state, saying that his part-timer had not arrived yet, but we had a good impression of his solid customer service even in the midst of a tense situation.
If it were in my neighborhood, I would definitely go there.
