Shabu Gen" in Nishi-Azabu was the first shabu-shabu restaurant that satisfied me at a reasonable price range. The course includes sashimi, rice with rice crackers, and a choice of three kinds of meat, including dessert. Beef and pork are 3800 yen, beef loin is 4800 yen, and the best beef loin is 7200 yen. We selected the beef loin course, and added beef, top beef loin and octopus a la carte to taste the three kinds of meat. We tasted three kinds of meat. The sauce was ponzu (vinegar), sesame and salt sauce. All were delicious. I usually eat with ponzu sauce, but I really enjoyed the sesame sauce and homemade raayu (Chinese chili oil) drizzled on the beef. I am not so fond of meat with a lot of fat in it anymore, but the thickness of the meat was excellent. I am not so fond of meat with sashi anymore, but this thickness is superb. I could eat as much as I wanted. The finishing dish of kishimen is of course delicious, but I was also impressed by the zosui (rice porridge). It is made in an earthenware pot. The beauty of this restaurant is the owner's hospitality. She is so attentive and attentive in her conversation with us that we felt sorry for the price range. I decided to visit this restaurant after reading a post by ito ryoko, who is just as attentive and genuine as the proprietress. Thank you for always introducing us to such wonderful restaurants. I have only been satisfied with shabu-shabu restaurants that cost more than 10,000 yen, and I had almost no chance to go there because it was too expensive for my own money. I will definitely choose Shabu Gen from now on when I eat Shabu Shabu on my own. Thank you very much.
