[Tempura Tensen] First visit to this famous restaurant in Edogawabashi. I was looking forward to having authentic tempura for lunch on a holiday, but there was a wait of two groups, despite the relatively large number of seats, including tables. However, we entered the restaurant within 15-20 minutes. When we entered the restaurant, we were surprised to see the owner frying tempura all by himself. He is amazingly skillful. We all ordered the special tendon, wondering what we should order since it was our first time. It seemed that the people who came before us had not yet received their orders, so we thought we would have to wait a long time, but it only took about 20 minutes for our order to be served. During that time, I watched the owner fry the tempura, and he did not cut any corners at all. The tendon was carefully prepared. The taste of the tempura is just like the Edo style tempura, with a strong flavor that lingers on the tongue and throat. The sauce must have been made by adding more and more sauce since the establishment of the restaurant. To be honest, I don't like it at all, but I can feel the weight of history and the feeling that this is what an Edo-mae tempura bowl should be like. Still, for 1,600 yen, I left with a great sense of satisfaction 😁.
