How good is ryotei bread? Shimogamo Saryo is famous for its Kyoto-style kaiseki cuisine! You can buy prepared foods and bento boxes in the basement! The Kyoto-style soup stock is light and elegant! I rarely buy them these days, but the bento boxes are quite good! My mother bought some anpan from Shimogamo Saryo. Anpan from a ryotei (traditional Japanese restaurant)? Originally, it was a popular souvenir (not for sale) from a ryotei (Japanese-style restaurant), but it became so popular that it was commercialized. However, it is not always sold, and is only available for a limited time. Anpan wrapped in a duck-patterned furoshiki cloth and placed in a box It was given to a regular customer, so it's very neatly done. It's not really anpan, but rather a bread-shaped anpan! The dough is carefully made using Tanba Dainagon, a type of rice flour made from sake. 1 loaf 1,575 yen (before tax increase) The explanation is that the unique way to enjoy the anpan in the form of bread is to bake it and spread butter on it, which is very popular. So I baked it and tried it! The first crunchy texture, how light it is! The layers of crispy~hollow~ collapse in your mouth! I wonder if this texture is possible because no yeast is used? The texture of the azuki beans and the aroma of butter make me so happy! If you are looking for something like this, there is Tomy's Anshoku... The reason why the price is twice as much is probably because they use good ingredients and put a lot of time and effort into it! It's hard for me to make a quick decision to buy it, but It is definitely a delicious bean-jam bun! If you see a stack of vermilion furoshiki (wrapping cloth) with a duck pattern on it, it's a sign that the bread is for sale! Please come and buy it as a souvenir or a treat for yourself!
