Do everything you can to make a reservation at Hananoi! It was the best meal we had in Kyoto and this is the best sushi we have ever had. The ambience is unique and beautiful and the service is amazing. And the price is so reasonable. The restaurant is under the management of the 3rd generation chef. His mother is still working at the restaurant and comes out and greets the clients. The entire staff is so lovely. The family used to be in the sake business and there are some excellent sakes available as well as other drinks. It is a small restaurant, only a few seats around the sushi bar, so you need to reserve in advance
