Kiya Honten

Kiya Honten is a koji specialty store with a history spanning approximately 185 years since the late Edo period. Currently, the ninth generation serves as the guide within the store, and the handmade koji and koji products made using traditional methods are very popular. In-store tastings of miso, amazake, vinegar, and sake made with koji are available, with the 'Miracle Koji Series' being particularly well-received. The products, rich in natural sweetness and nutrients from koji, pair excellently with both Japanese and Western cuisine, captivating all who visit.
