Adjacent to the Yoshinogawa River, this is the main branch of Heimune, famous for its kakinoha sushi. The many choices on the menu made it difficult to choose, but I ordered Yoshinogawa (grilled sweetfish sushi, 1,800 yen), chagayu, kobachi (small bowl of cooked food), kuzukiri (kuzu noodles), and pickles along with the other diners around me. The grilled ayu sushi was covered with a rich sauce, and personally, I found it difficult to taste the true flavor of the ayu fish. Making sushi with a single ayu fish is luxurious and wonderful! Chagayu is a thick porridge thickened with thick tea, and the arare topping balances the crunchy texture nicely. Kakinoha sushi is a food that lasts for a long time and can be enjoyed even in mountainous areas. Food and culture are closely related, and this food was born from the roots of this land!
