While wandering in the basement food market in Umeda, I feel excited to see a colorful array of obanzai (traditional Japanese side dishes) lined up. There is a wide variety of bento boxes and assorted dishes, and just looking at them makes it hard to choose. The tofu hamburger has a refreshing grated daikon sauce, and its soft texture is impressive. The okara (soy pulp) with sweet potato is moist and has a gentle sweetness that lingers. The fish, whether grilled with saikyo miso or salt, has a moderate saltiness that allows you to fully enjoy the flavor of the ingredients. With so many side dishes, I think it pairs perfectly with sake.
