In a quiet little shop tucked away in a residential area, I was thrilled by the fragrant smoke the moment I opened the door. It's a simple space with just tables and a counter, but thanks to the soft atmosphere created by the husband-and-wife owners, it feels very calming. First, I enjoyed some edamame while refreshing my throat with draft beer, and then switching to Hoppy was the perfect flow. The liver and tsukune were grilled with a soy sauce glaze infused with garlic, while the kasira and hatsu were grilled to just the right saltiness, all incredibly juicy. The offal stew made with white miso was rich yet had a light aftertaste, and combined with the crunchy texture of the gatsu sashimi, I couldn't put my chopsticks down. While munching on skewers with the baseball game on TV in my peripheral vision, I felt like a regular and had a wonderful time.
