In Nago City, Okinawa, the Sumiyaki Izakaya "Takechan" Biimata is a warm izakaya where you can feel a Showa-era atmosphere. They pride themselves on skewers of Yambaru jidori (Yambaru local chicken) and prefecture-raised pork slowly grilled over binchotan charcoal, which bring out the natural flavors of the ingredients. The sashimi made with fresh seafood procured personally by the owner is also highly regarded, and this is a place where you can enjoy fresh sashimi delivered directly from Nago Fishing Port at reasonable prices.
