Jizutsukame

The cuisine at Izutsukame features seasonal Japanese dishes made from locally sourced, natural ingredients. Particularly recommended is the "natural sweetfish set meal," where you can enjoy dishes using seasonal sweetfish. Also popular are the "wild boar hot pot set" and "wild boar sukiyaki set," both of which are unique to Asuke. In addition, "Unagi zen" is also offered, a gem using eels from Mikawa-Isshiki. Lunch boxes are also available and can be taken out.

The restaurant is a three-story building in a purely Japanese style, with private rooms in elaborate styles such as tea-ceremony room style and shoin-style, providing an ideal space for groups and families. Founded in 1887, Izutsukame is a long-established Japanese restaurant that continues to fill the bellies of local and tourist customers. After finding the exterior of the restaurant, which blends in nicely with the traditional town of Asuke and Korankei, please enter the restaurant. The menu includes dishes unique to Asuke, such as wild ayu (sweetfish), wild boar hot pot caught in the neighborhood, and shishi-korokke (shishi-korokke). The restaurant does not use ready-made products, but focuses on handmade flavors and Asuke products. We use about one eel for each dish, so you can enjoy it to the fullest.
