Delicious vegetarian food is served in the quiet atmosphere of the temple. The dishes are beautiful to look at and the vegetables are carefully prepared. It is a healthy and satisfying meal. You can enjoy a relaxing meal at a table with a view of the lovely garden. The staff is friendly and helpful and provides information about the cuisine. I would like to visit this restaurant again to enjoy the flowers and unusual dishes.

A tranquil restaurant woven with history and nature
Yamabana Heihachi Chaya is a historic ryokan established during the Tensho era, surrounded by the rich nature of northern Kyoto. As you pass through the gate and walk along the stone-paved path, you will find a strolling garden that offers seasonal landscapes, inviting visitors into a serene escape from the everyday. After experiencing the signature "kama-buro" (a bath in a pot), you can enjoy a moment of dining while taking in the calming views of the Koyagawa River. The beauty of the dishes, drawn out by sincere craftsmanship, brings deep satisfaction to all who visit.
Merci beaucoup.

An izakaya where you can enjoy exquisite black-haired wagyu and a variety of Kyoto obanzai
This teppanyaki izakaya offers expertly crafted black-haired wagyu steak, allowing you to savor the juicy and tender flavors of the meat. With fresh obanzai and homemade tofu available, you can discover new deliciousness with each visit. The establishment provides a Kyoto-style hospitality, ensuring a pleasant experience.
The service is smooth, and the meal progresses pleasantly. The initial cold soup is smooth, with the gentle sweetness of pumpkin and romanesco spreading nicely. The homemade rye and whole grain bread has a wonderful aroma, and is fluffy yet chewy, pairing well with olive oil. The fish, such as Spanish mackerel and sweetfish, is cooked just right, with a crispy crust and the impressive aroma of saffron and the freshness of lemon. The meat dishes showcase the quality of the ingredients, with the crispy texture of chicken skin and a dish combining pork belly with a cream of daikon. The desserts, such as ice cream accompanied by tomato and red shiso jelly or a strawberry dish, have a playful touch, and I was satisfied even with the tea and coffee served after the meal.
