Showa Retro Town Sushi with Amami Island Soba and Marinated Tuna

This Showa retro-style restaurant, marked by its sign, attracts local customers who enjoy sushi in a relaxed atmosphere. The carefully prepared offerings, such as marinated tuna nigiri and rolled sushi, showcase craftsmanship that transcends typical casual sushi. The rich and slightly sweet broth of Amami Island soba is also popular, creating a fresh appeal with the combination of noodles and sushi. The warm ambiance and skilled techniques make this establishment a favorite among repeat visitors.

When you sit at the counter, a calm space filled with the scent of the Showa era spreads out, making you feel somehow at ease. The first dish that came out was island soba, with a rich, slightly sweet broth that clung to the noodles, making you want to drink the soup down to the last drop. Next, the marinated tuna sushi had a moist texture, and the moment it combined with the rice, the umami spread throughout. The rolled sushi was also packed tightly with ingredients, and I felt happiness with every bite. They also put effort into the pressed sushi, which had a fragrant aroma and a perfect balance of vinegar. It was a heartwarming place that made it easy to understand why it is loved by the locals.
