In a bright Japanese-style space, there are counters and tables where you can spend a relaxing time. The menu, which combines Chinese and Japanese cuisine, is enjoyable, and I appreciate being able to have small portions served on small plates. The Sichuan mapo tofu is spicy yet rich in flavor, and the larger pieces of tofu provide a satisfying experience. The soups and small dishes are carefully flavored, with the ume (plum) and yuzu pepper from the yam providing a nice accent. The selection of alcoholic beverages is also extensive, allowing for comparisons of different vintages of Shaoxing wine, and there are enjoyable options for sake as well. The snacks, such as the spiced chicken wings, crunchy pig ear, and fragrant grilled whale, are all appealing.
