A Cozy Place to Enjoy Miyako Soba and Local Flavors

Nmaya~ means 'grandma's house' in the Miyako dialect, and it is a restaurant with a homely and heartwarming atmosphere. The restaurant's pride is its Miyako soba, featuring a gentle-tasting broth made from vegetables and meat without the use of salt, complemented by the exquisite tenderness of the pork rib. When I opened the entrance, a comforting atmosphere flowed in, making me smile as if I had returned to my family home. Even while waiting after handing over the meal ticket, the relaxed mood was pleasant, and the breeze blowing through the covered outdoor seating was refreshing. The Miyako soba that came out had just the right amount of chewiness, and it paired perfectly with the light broth. The soft bone pork on top was melt-in-your-mouth tender, with the umami flavor deeply infused. The set included jimami tofu, hijiki rice, and a small bowl of vegetables, all seasoned with care, satisfying both my stomach and my heart. While returning the dishes after the meal, I happily thought of the next menu items I wanted to try.
