In a calm space renovated from an old folk house, I felt excited the moment I took my seat. The course was centered around local fish and vegetables, with the aroma of the ingredients spreading with each dish. The appetizer made with tuna from Kushimoto was in a Caprese style, and its light acidity and umami were superb. The steak from Kumano beef was surprisingly tender, with a light fat that didn't weigh me down until the end. The pairing of drinks was also rich, perfectly matching the gradient of Japanese and Western flavors with the dishes. The ginger sorbet, which left a refreshing aftertaste, reset my palate, and I left feeling very satisfied.
All dishes were very satisfying in both taste and volume.
The fried whale fish reminded me of the school lunch at elementary school.
I would definitely go back to this restaurant.
