Right next to the ferry dock. Right after you get off the ferry, go straight ahead and you will find the store on the same second floor. As one would expect from Ama Town, when I entered with a friend, we found many acquaintances, even though my friend had just moved to the area half a year ago. We could see the interaction between the islanders right away. Since we were there, we ordered the most expensive set meal (2,100 yen), which included typical Ama-machi seafood. The set meal was filled with oysters, pickled squid, and other delicious-looking items. So we couldn't resist and decided to have a bottle of beer (medium, 500 yen) as well. I was told that rock oysters are frozen in a special facility and can be enjoyed year-round. You can taste the creaminess of the large oysters, which you would not expect from frozen oysters. Also, the white pickled squid was a perfect accompaniment to sake. It is a pity that I had to hold back on sake because it was only noon and I was planning to go sightseeing on the island by bicycle afterwards. It was a bit expensive, but there are not that many restaurants on the island, so it was reasonable to have a delicious meal in a convenient location with a view of the ocean. The only thing to note is that the restaurant is open until the evening when the ferry arrives and is not open at night.

Fried horse mackerel, deep fried striped horse mackerel with rice flour, deep fried soybean horse mackerel marinated in soy sauce and miso Deep-fried mackerel with tatsuta sauce, all made with fish and shellfish from Ama Town. Please enjoy them with our special pink tartar sauce made from Shibazuke (a type of Japanese pickles) to your liking.

Shimame is a Japanese common squid from Oki Island. Please enjoy shimame marinated in soy sauce with liver, condiments of leek or ginger and raw egg on rice, if you like. Ama Town is proud of its brand rock oyster "Haruka", a rock oyster with a rich and creamy umami taste.
