Medium-to full-bodied, incredibly deep and fresh, with fine tannins that carry you deep down into the finish. It tells you its great, but makes you spend time in order to understand it. Reminds me of the 1990 Latour. James Suckling
Dark fruited nose, black and blue. A bit of oak on the nose and palate. Rich blueberries and dark cherries. Classic Colgin fine grained tannins. Packs a punch at 15% ABV but Carries it well. Medium plus finish and excellent minerality
This powerful Cabernet showcases the tremendous complexity of Howell Mountain. A very focused, precise wine both on nose and palate. Nose is just as much mineral as it is fruit: currants, cassis but not without pencil lead. It is assertive in the mouth, and all about structure. Flavors are of ripe berries, more currants, cedar, a cigar box. Tannins are muscular and frame the wine around a lively acidity; they are fine and chewy but ever-present. The structure overall is exciting and full of verve. 280 cases produced
JS 94 | JD 90. Delicious and classic California Cabernet with deep garnet-purple color. Big, lush, juicy with soft tannins and soft acidity, cooked plums and baking spices, chocolate, tobacco. Really opens up after an hour or two. Elegant and complex
