I made a reservation for lunch on a weekday in mid-July and visited. The place was full of reserved customers. ◼️ "Extreme" Nigiri (excluding tax 4,500 yen) ・Flounder 　Served with grated daikon mixed with kanzuri. ・Houbou 　It's interesting to eat with fish sauce made from kanagashira (a relative of houbou). ・Flatfish ・Kijihata ・Madai 　Eating it with sesame sauce gives a satisfying feeling like tai chazuke. ・Horse mackerel 　The grated ginger is refreshing and delicious. ・Hiramasu ・Sweet shrimp 　With fish sauce made from sweet shrimp. 　It has a creamy texture and is very tasty. ・Salmon roe ・Otoro 　Even with extra wasabi, the rich flavor of the fat is not overpowered. There were many local ingredients, and it felt like a true travel meal, which was delightful! After eating all of this and having a non-alcoholic drink, it came to just over 6,000 yen. It was a satisfying sushi experience. I heard the chef retired last year, but the young chef's attentive service made it a comfortable place, even for someone like me who is not used to eating at the counter. It was a great way to wrap up my trip to Niigata. I will definitely visit again.

The 10-piece set is priced at 3,850 yen including tax, a reasonable price for common people. The main ingredients are all natural local fish, served with rice vinegar and a little sugar to match the rice, which has a good graininess to it. This is great town sushi. The additional three pieces and the toro tetsubi thin roll cost almost 4,000 yen, but I was surprised at the high level of all of them. Gokumi (10 pieces) Egg roll Hiramasa Sea bream, sesame and ume plum Hachime (Mebaru) yellowtail (sea bream) pickled tuna Nanban Shrimp (Sweet Shrimp) Salmon roe Ezo-Bahoon Sea Urchin Ootoro (Big fatty tuna) red squid, sesame Miso soup with mozuku seaweed ice cream Addition Northern sea bream whelk Red Clam Toro Tekki-Maki

They were very attentive to our children and the white meat, a rarity on the Sea of Japan side, was very tasty. We will visit again. Thank you for the food.

The bara chirashi on the lunch menu is very popular, and I am glad that it is filled with a lot of ingredients, such as large fatty tuna, red meat, flatfish, squid, inada, and sime saba (mackerel). It is very nice that the price is only a little over 1,000 yen. Moreover, each fish is carefully selected, and they do not use farm-raised fish, but only wild caught fish. The nigiri is also easy to eat, with a small rice ball. The owner is very friendly, and it is nice to be able to enjoy a meal while chatting with him.

We enjoyed the explanation about sushi, soy sauce, etc., while they actively explained to us what they were doing.
