This is a white coffee from Ipoh, Malaysia. It is written "white coffee" but the color is not white. It is derived from the Chinese word "white," meaning not to put in. Originally, in the Ipoh area of Malaysia, it was common to add margarine and wheat when roasting coffee, but the Malaysians of Chinese descent named it "white" after the fact that it was roasted with only margarine and no other ingredients. The name "white" was given to the coffee by Malaysians of Chinese descent, and it became popular in the Malay Peninsula under British rule, where it was called "white coffee" in English translation. This coffee is characterized by its low acidity.
