Nagoya Business Trip Meal Hormone in Kyoto is called "Aje", but I didn't know it was also available in Nagoya! It was a 10-minute walk from Meieki Station and a few minutes from my client's place, so I was prepared for a huge line. A few years ago, when I visited the main Ajie restaurant in Kyoto, it was packed to capacity, but this Nagoya restaurant was only about half full, even though I visited around 9:00 p.m. on a Wednesday. I was happy to be able to eat without waiting, but it was a bit complicated. Hoso (salt) This is the signature dish of this restaurant. At first glance, it looks dry, but when grilled, the fat is soaked up. We order it with salt, but it is even better with the special sauce. Beef tendon (salt) I ordered this dish because it was recommended on the white board. I thought it was stewed beef, but it was actually a cut-off piece! I am not sure of the details, but I took a bite and it was very tasty. Halami en gawa (salt) This was probably trimmed off from the jalami. The texture of the meat and the texture of the suji are good, and the beer goes down a treat. Kalupi The name on the menu is not "bi" but "pi. I ordered kalbi (ribs), but I wanted to try some lean meat, so I went with the regular kalbi. It is delicious with a special sauce (dashi) for tare-meat. I guess it is popular in Kyoto to add dashi (Japanese soup stock) to yakiniku, as is the case at Tendan. Rice with egg Rice, raw egg, Korean laver (1 sheet), and chives in soy sauce. This was the first time for me to try ttekg with chives, but they go very well together! I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone who lives or works in Nagoya, as well as to those who are on a business trip or sightseeing like myself, because it is just delicious.
