The space is limited, and the deliciousness of the meal is just as moving as when I first tasted it ten years ago. If you have time in Kyoto, you absolutely must come and eat!

I went to the Yokoyama Taikan exhibition. I thought Taikan's works were not so good, but they were made when he was young. As he got older, his work became more and more overwhelming. Yamamoto Menzo is also overwhelming. In summer in Kyoto, everything is orange because of the heat, and even the friction of wiping sweat off with a handkerchief is so hot that it dazzles the eye.

After waiting for almost an hour, I finally got to eat! Yamamoto Menzo is a popular restaurant in Kyoto! The udon was firm and chewy! The tsuke soup was nice with lots of ingredients. The tea service for those waiting outside and the parasol service were wonderful. Thank you very much for the food.

The staff is very polite, the cold udon noodles are super delicious, the tempura vegetables are very sweet, and I like the overall experience very much.

It was great! Higashiyama "Yamamoto Menzo Udon noodles with beef and burdock root Tempura of burdock root Cooked rice No.1 in Kyoto city udon ranking on food log! I was prepared to wait in line, but luckily the line was not that long! Great atmosphere inside the restaurant! The soup stock was amazingly delicious! The bonito flakes combined with the beef and burdock flavor was delicious! The yuzu kosho and sansho go great together! And of course the noodles were delicious! The takikomi-gohan (takikomi rice) is gentle but well seasoned and never boring! The burdock tempura was delicious! The batter was crispy and the burdock tempura was not muddy. It's a specialty of the restaurant and it was delicious! The waitress was very nice! My last lunch on my trip to Kyoto! It was delicious ☺️ I hope to come back again!

I had to wait in line for 3.5 hours, but it was worth it, the noodles are sticky and firm💓The kashiwa-ten and gobo-ten go well with the udon until the noodles get soggy! This is beer 🍺. (*Numbered tickets are required now)
